You may remember Momma Megan from her stunning late spring maternity session at Beaver Creek. She welcomed Mr. Nixon John into the world on June 15 and her natural water birth was simply miraculous.
It was so early in the morning when I got the call that Momma Megan was in labor. Knowing she was already dilated and had her membranes swept that day, I was ready to go, ready to capture her bringing her boy into the world.
This little boy was so anticipated, prayed and wished for, that the mood in the room was palpable. Megan and Harley had longed for another child to welcome into their family for some time following Harley’s cancer diagnosis and subsequent remission. I’m honored to be able to share their birth story.
Megan had opted for a natural water birth at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. Her midwife was absolutely amazing, talking Megan through each contraction, reminding her that her body was made to bring life into the world. Megan is honestly one of the strongest women I know.
After a short but intense labor, Nixon was born at 2:55am. Welcome to the world, sweet boy.
